21 DEAD IN GAZA BUILDING FIRE: FREE GAZA, END THE SIEGE NOW!

18th November, in Gaza, a catastrophic fire erupted in a residential building that has so far claimed the lives of 21 Palestinians, with many more injured. We hold Israel fully responsible for every martyr lost in the blaze. Already the densest place on earth, Gaza's poor infrastructure, lack of cement, and absence of safe building materials is a direct result of Israel's suffocating blockade on Gaza, instituted as collective punishment for Gazans' continued resistance against the occupation and their refusal to capitulate to zionist demands.

The siege of Gaza must end. Without the blockade being lifted, there can be no serious attempt made to prevent a similar catastrophe from occurring again. The PYM demands the full and immediate lifting of restrictions on building materials, equipment, and safety supplies into and out of the Strip; reinstatement of full freedom of movement for the 2 million Palestinians in Gaza; and restoration of economic ties between Gaza and all of Occupied Palestine.
